Who, What, & Why?

The name Bensi Box is a nod to a former company dating back to the 1980s in the United States. Benzi Box built anti-theft devices for car radios, however they no longer exist. So why did we pick this name? Bensi Box can be thought of as an "anti-theft" system for Fine Art. Tokenization offers unique value like provenance and fully onchain variability of owners and ownership history. Plus we are a huge fan of the native tongues movement and many artists and groups from that movement have awesome lyrics containing the phrase Bensi Box.Bensi Box is founded by Alex Miner, a decentralized Project Manager (dePM) of several protocols in the web3 space including FortiFi and Lendit. Miner has been apart of the Avalanche community since 2021 and in the larger crypto space since 2014. Formerly, he worked at Kraken on the Asset Listing team.So why tokenize and fractionalize Fine Art with a unique approach? In short, decentralization and innovation are core tenants of Bensi Box. Decentralization is a long term process, not an overnight event. It is a north star to mold protocols toward with the intent of building a system that can stand if and when the Bensi Box company is gone. Our goal is to build a self-sufficient, self-sustaining, and self-governed protocol that manages a RWArtwork Collection with the use of community driven governance.
